With the start of the new year and reflecting on 2017, I wanted to share my most-used and most-loved makeup products from the past year! Below, I have listed my favorite in each category. Some of them have multiple products because making decisions is hard! Not all of these were new releases in 2017 and I've talked about some of these before, but this is a complete list of all of my most favorites!
Best Foundation - Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation and NARS Sheer Glow Foundation - I love both of these foundations so much. They both make my skin look flawless and photograph so well! They work perfectly whether my skin is going through an oily phase (which, it was when I first bought these) or a dry phase (like right now). They are medium coverage but build-able to full coverage! The Wet n Wild foundation is only $6 and the NARS one is a bit pricier, but a little goes a LONG way. I have had my current bottle for about a year!
Best Concealer - Colourpop No Filter Concealer - This is the first concealer that does not crease under my eyes, which is a big deal because I have tried a lot of them! The formula of this concealer is lightweight but it can still cover up the dark circles under my eyes. At $6, it just can't be beat!
Best Setting Powder - RCMA No Color Powder - This is the perfect translucent powder! A lot of translucent powders aren't really translucent. They leave a scary white cast on your face, which is not cute in pictures. This one truly is colorless and sets my makeup down to a smooth finish!
Best Bronzer - The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer and Benefit Hoola Bronzer - I like to use The Balm bronzer to warm up and tan my skin. It is not too orange, not too red, and doesn't look muddy. It has super fine glitter particles in it so it gives you a summery glow. Then, I like to use Hoola as my contour. It is such a neutral shade, not too gray, so it looks good on anyone! Both of these last a long time! I have had my Hoola bronzer for 3 years and still have plenty left!
Best Blush - Tarte Amazonian Clay 24 Hour Blush - I got to try these blushes out this year, and now I want every shade! They last all day and are so pigmented, but they still blend out nicely in case you put a little too much on.
Best Highlighter - Colourpop Super Shock Highlighter in Flexitarian and Wet n Wild Highlighter in Crown of My Canopy - Flexitarian is the most beaming white champagne highlight. It has gold and silver flecks in it so it goes with any makeup look. This formula is also so interesting! It is definitely a powder but it kind of feels wet. Idk but I like it. Crown of My Canopy is a dupe for Becca's Champagne Pop! I used to love Champagne Pop, but mine broke like three times so I was over it. This is the exact same thing! A perfect peachy gold. Also, both of these are under $10!
Best Eyeshadow Palette - Morphe Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette - Now that I have this eyeshadow palette, I feel like I don't need any other eyeshadows ever! These are so pigmented, but so buttery and smooth that they blend so well. The colors are a range of warm neutrals (except those four crazy ones in the corner) and can transition from day to night. $38 for 35 amazing eyeshadows is an absolute steal!
Best Eyeliner - Essence Extreme Lasting Eye Pencil - I have always struggled with eyeliner. They don't last all day, they transfer and slide all over my eyes, or they are too complicated to apply quickly. This one is a creamy pencil (easy to apply!) and lasts all day! It is not too pigmented so I don't have black everywhere but it is pigmented enough that you don't have to work for your line.
Best Mascara - L'oreal Lash Paradise - If you love Too Faced's Better Than Sex mascara, then you will love this because it is the exact same thing but found at any drugstore, Walmart, or Target for less than $10! This makes my eyelashes full but not clumpy, and the brush makes it easy to finish mascara super quickly!
Best Lipliner - NYX Slim Lip Pencil - I have about five shades of this lip liner! Not only do I use it as lip liner, oftentimes I put it all over my lips and wear it as a lipstick! They last all day and go on smoothly!
Best Lipstick - Nudestix Matte Lip Color - This is the most comfortable lipstick I have ever put on! It is matte, but still has a creamy texture so it is comfortable to wear! I love the color Rose.
Best Liquid Lipstick - Ofra Liquid Lipstick - I have only had this lipstick for a month, but I already have such high praises for it that it is a favorite for my year! I do NOT like liquid lipsticks. They are uncomfortable, sticky, and make my lips look crackly! This one is not like that. My lips feel like NOTHING is on them. It is a truly amazing lip product.
Best Setting Spray - Morphe Setting Mist - I have only had this for about a two weeks, but it automatically topped all other setting sprays I have tried. It is an aerosol (which is so interesting to spray on your face), so I don't have to fear that I'll have big drops of setting spray on my face. It melts all of your makeup together, but in a good way! It makes you look seamless!
I hope you enjoyed my best beauty products of the year! Feel free to ask any questions in the comments and make sure to let me know your must-have products!
